Don't forget Parchers Camp over Bishop Pass. It's 12 miles from the
PCT, up a grand and glorious canyon wall, through pristine Dusy Basin,
and over another 12,000' pass. While it's 24 miles round trip, there is
no hitchhiking involved.

I communicated with the new owner last year and they will hold
packages. I bet you could even arrange to have a food cache packed down
to the trail if you could arrange to be somewhere "on time" - don't know
though.
