[pct-l] Logistics of San Jacinto hike

Hi list:

I am planning to come to ADZPCTKO and then want to do a short hike from Pines to Palms to Idyllwild.  I am section hiking OR later in the season.  Since I and a friend are flying in, does anyone have suggestions on getting from Idyllwild back to San Diego or to Palm Springs?  It doesn't sound like there is bus service or rental cars in town, and given my past experience with it, hitchhiking is not an option.  Also, can I assume that it would be possible to catch a ride from someone at ADZPCTKO from there to Pines to Palms Hwy?  Appreciate any advice....

Also any thoughts on the condition of that section are welcome.  Thanks.
