Question - would a good monopod not possibly make a great walking stick? On top of which your camera would happily sit? Also, I always keep a table top tripod with me...which is capable of holding a full size DSLR with a small lens. Just a suggestion!

Ok you got me beat on weight by an order of magnitude but I think its much more usefull.
