[pct-l] getting to the trail from san deigo

is there there an motel/hotel, rei, food store thats close to the public services outlined in yogi handbook. I will be flying into San deigo on the 31th of this month and would hate to rack up taxi fairs too and fro to get fuel and food. or is peeps hosting hikers in the area. eathe or will work for me-I'm not picky
