I would hope if the KO folks read this they might have a group session
and remind the hikers about courtesy and being respectful to those they
interact with on the trail.

First place, if I remember correctly, this already happens. Second place, these are adults who need not/should not be 
treated as youngsters about their manners. I abhor poor manners and yet is it not a part of what we should expect when we open our homes to strangers? Thirdly, when I see or feel that's happening, I mention it at the time.
