In the areas we're talking about, you'd probably lose that bet.  The bears there have figured out how to defeat any conceivable bear-bagging strategy.  They'll climb out on the limb you used and chew through the rope, or if the limb won't support them, they'll just bounce up and down on it until it breaks.  Mama bears have been known to get their cubs to take flying leaps and grab the bags in mid-air.  It's really crazy when they can do.

It sure would be a fascinating experiment, though.  I'd pay to see the resulting video!  :-)
