The author seemed to underscore that the attitudes and voting choices of the people of Boulder were in part responsible for the proliferation of mountain lions in the area. I would imagine that folks there might find what he said offensive to some degree. One of my best friends was born and raised in Boulder, and his dad's place where he grew up is up the hill near Sunshine, not far from the old schoolhouse. He went to his prom with the young woman who two young cats treed for hours (her account is in the book). Recently on a visit home to his wife's parents place down toward the eastern side of town (rather suburban area), several blocks away a five year old boy was attacked.

Mr. Baron may be sensationalizing, but he's not making stuff up.
