[pct-l] Ice Axe Question

Good morning, Ma & Pa,

Other than being useful for digging cat-holes, an ice axe would be of
limited value in September.  By then the snowpack will be gone or of no 
consequence, and if you encounter some fresh, early autumn, snow it 
will be the fluffy stuff in which an ice axe will be of little use.
