[pct-l] planning for food on the PCT

I wonder if anyone else has had the following experience?  It takes a 
week to two weeks for the body to need more than 2500 or so calories a 
day.  On my many section hikes lasting longer than two weeks I always 
eat less than I think I will in the beginning, and then more than I can 
carry subsequently?  Anyone else with this experience?
