The bear has a 50/50 chance of turning in the correct direction. I would 
attribute the bears success to persistence and the odds, not to 
intelligence.

By adding a second tab as BV has done, the odds are reduced to 1 in 4. Add a 
3rd tab and the odds become 1 in 8. The point is, a persistent bear will 
accidentally open a BV also, given enough time.

Granted, the 'intelligent bear' story is far more compelling.  ;)
