I agree with you. The closure is not 'recommended', it is mandatory. Just
as we have a responsiblility to follow the rules in other respects, the same
applies here. I guess they feel they have the 'right' to take their own
risks...but it does sent a very bad message. And if some other hikers
emulated Scott and Joe, hiked thru a closed area, and were injured or
killed, wouldn't it bother them?
