Carolyn,
That flame marker is like 20 miles across! You have a greater chance from a 
new fire in the SV area, than the Siskiyou Complex getting to the PCT. It's 
30+ miles from SV now, and burning to the NW. Plan your hike, the worst it 
might be is smokey, unless new storms come through. It is over 100F today 
tho, which is like hiking in a fire.

I plan to start hiking Sections P through C (nobo) about 10 days from now if 
they aren't on fire by then.  I called the Hiker Hut in Etna last night. 
The area is smoky, but the PCT is currently open.
The closest fire is the Siskiyou Complex Fire. You can check it on this 
interactive map.  Us the Siskiyou link on the right sidebar to zero in on 
the correct icon.  It looks uncomfortably close to Seiad Valley.
