[pct-l] New Water Collection Technique

This sounds very interesting.  It is  a water collection device for your tarp 
or tent fly.  It is a tensioner  with a collection cup attached to your water

and scroll down to it.
 
My question is will it collect some water  run off from dew on the rainfly 
and not just rain water?  That would be  really neat to wake up in the morning 
in the desert and have may be a half or a  liter of pure dew water in a bottle 
that would otherwise be lost.  That  would be way too cool.
