[pct-l] Hiking poles on airplanes

Don’t forget that the baskets can be removed, creating what amounts to a
spear. At all the ski resorts I’ve ever been to, there are notices that
poles without baskets are not allowed for that reason.

I had to put them with my carry on gear when I headed on a flight. I was
told they could not go through security. I quess the tips were too sharp
(huh??) and could be used as a weapon?!??

Am wondering how to handle my hiking poles when I fly to San Diego. Has
anyone had experience with this? Thanks.
