Agreed, Mt. Shasta is an awesome mountain.
The Fifth Season is a store in Mt. Shasta City where
you can rent climbing equipment at a reasonable rate.

I just checked a pdf at the above link and a one-day
rental of crampons, ice axe, helmet and gaiters in the
summer is $37.
