Consider Mt. San Gorgonio (Grayback), about a 20 mile round trip off the PCT in section C, about mile 240. At 11,499 feet, it's the highest mountain in SoCal between Mexico and the Sierras. The Fish Creek trail head is about a mile by road from the PCT. For a PCT hiker, it should be an fairly easy walk-up sans heavy snow. Permit (free) required.
