mt. lassen is an easy/short walk-up with nice, dramatic views. not sure if there's a good pct alternate that will take you there, but otherwise maybe you can get a lift from old station. also, don't forget mt. san jacinto, an easy side-trip off the pct. lots of pct hikers bag this one. girlscout
