Ken,

You can take it another step further -- any box or parcel that has ANY kind
of Priority tape or symbols must go Priority.  So, use caution when putting
the Priortiy tape or symbols on any box that you may want to send Parcel
Post eventually. We've had the darnedest time trying to remove these.

Just a heads up on this. We tried using priority boxes turned inside out 
last year. Our local PO wouldn't touch the boxes for regular parcel post. 
They told us the priority boxes are to be used only for priority mail. I 
think the postal literature states this also.

Thought this addition of a larger size, higher price Priority Mail
flat rate box might be of interest to hikers planning mail drops,
etc. this year.  Also, I wanted to "share" that FREE Priority Mail
boxes can be turned inside out to the plain brown side for shipping
by non-post office services (UPS, FedEx, etc), or by post office
services other than Priority Mail (i.e., parcel post).  Just
carefully pull apart the glued side, turn inside out, tape, and use
the box in the usual way.  Nice way to recycle a Priority Mail box
that has been used once already ;-)
