We tried sealing our home made dried food in vacuum sealed bags and the
dried (turkey jerky)  meat punctured the plastic.  Dried veggies didn't
puncture often, but sometimes these bags would not seal either, it just was
not worth it!  These bags are so heavy.  Plus how long do you want to save
the stuff for?  Its already dried!
