[pct-l] Missing Hiker

Great post from a first time poster ... don't be shy!
   
  We've already heard from a lawyer, how about a transportation expert. The sad news is, if you "DRIVE" to the trail head, the chances of being killed or injured are many times greater than all the time you are on the trail!
   
  It's a little like having fear of elevators. I heard once, and maybe it's an urban myth, but you are more likely to head for the roof than the ground if an elevator fails, due to the counter weights, but most people think that if an elevator fails, you'll fall to the ground.
   
  Same with the trail ... I'm guessing there's more chance of being hit by lightening or being attacked by a bear than from another human being. And the rewards are worth the risk as far as I'm concerned. See you on the trail!
