Does anyone have experience with both a Capilene silkweight shirt, and a
well-ventilated shirt like the RailRiders shirts? The RailRiders shirts
look perfect for the desert heat, but not warm at night like a Capilene 1
shirt would be. I'm thinking about taking only one shirt thru the desert,
and can't decide if the Silkweight Capilene is that much hotter in the heat
than a shirt with mesh vents would be. Either way it seems like you'd be
absurdly hot!
Here is my desert clothing list:
RailRiders Adventure L/S shirt
Macabi Men's Long Skirt
2 pairs of ankle length coolmax Darn Tough socks (soooo durable)
Dirty Girl gaitors
Coolibar sun gloves
Fleece Beanie cap
Powerstretch Balaclava (?)
Golite Windshirt
Birdiepal Swing Liteflex umbrella (rain protection...sun protection)
people should be aware that Birdiepal also makes silver coated umbrellas
like the Golite Chrome Dome. They are slightly lighter and cheaper.
Backpackinglight posted a good review of them. Come to think of it, I
believe someone may have written about them in the past day or 2.
