People are a touch more adaptable than bears, I suspect. Although just  
as prone to become dependent. however, a human who's in your  
neighborhood hunting for a water cache won't claw you in the face.

It's not a fair comparison for several other reasons, too. Not the  
least of which is that the human is a more complex animal -- no bear  
wants to thru-hike the PCT, for instance.
