I often wondered that myself......especially since I have not been
finding any of Meadow Ed's booze caches lately.
Well here it is New Years Eve and I have been celebrating and doing some
drinking and when I'm drinking I do a lot of
thinking.....and I been thinking, ''WHY'' aren't there more beer
caches along the trails?
Somebody should bring this to the attention of the
''Breweries''.....this could be a dynamite marketing strategy for the
''Breweries.''
Can you imagine the publicity.....PCT hikers.....powered by ''Busch'' or
powered by ''Bud''.
I bet they would install beer caches all along the PCT for that kind of
publicity.
Let's see now......there are lots of calories in beer....with all those
beer caches along the PCT we could go on a liquid diet and
not need to carry any food, stove, pots and pants, bear canisters, water
or water filters.
We would be so light, we could crank 20-30 mile days without a sweat and
we would never be at risk of dehydration.
There would be no need for water caches and all this cat fighting, but
most important we would be happier and more jovial
campers, for a light pack and a belly full of calories are the keys to a
happy camper.
You have to admit I come up with some good ideas when I'm
drinking......last year I came up with the ''Chickens on a Leash''
Ultra-light strategy, which was a ''huge'' success.
With this my friends, I will say.........so long,....farewell,.....Auf
Wiedersehen,....good by.....it has been nice knowing all of you
and hope to see you all on the trail someday.
Until then Happy Trails.......
Ooohhh my 4:15 in the morning already....I made a new years
resolution to start the New Year right by doing my daily jogging
early in the morning......I promised my wife I would start no later than
7: 00 AM.......it is going to be a rough beginning.
