[pct-l] isopropyl alcohol as stove fuel???

Alcohol is volatile, though much less so than, say, hexane. It is the alcohol vapors that we burn. Those of us using double-walled or side burning stoves prime the stove to increase the volitility of the fuel. Methanol is much more volatile than ethanol or isopropyl (as they increase in molecular weight, they decrease in volatility).

Alcohol of any kind of not volatile at all. It's very stable, actually, and even the most impure alcohol burns a lot cleaner than any petroleum-based fuel. Isopropyl alcohol will work in a stove but you don't want to use it, it has impurities that will dirty up your stove.
