[pct-l] Adding Weight to Pack for Training - Seattle

I'll second Tiger Mtn as a good training ground. It's less than an hour from most of the greater Seattle area.

Get the Greentrails 24000:1 map from REI. It's quite detailed, showing the spider web of trails up there. You can string together great loops up there from the relatively easy out and back West Tiger 3 (~5 miles RT, 2000 feet on the old trail, new trail a bit longer but less steep) to complex loops where you never (or barely) walk the same trail twice and get in 15 or 20 miles with 4000 or 5000 feet of elevation. If you set up your loops right, you're never more than about an hour or hour and a half from the I-90 side parking lot so bailing out early is an option.

With the weather pattern recently, there's likely to be a fair amount of snow up there, but that just makes for better training.

I'll also second the water jugs as convenient training weight.
