I've hiked north from the border a half dozen times now, starting anywhere 
from early april to mid may and I've never seen less than 5 or 6 different  
hikers a day all the way up to hiker heaven.
 Ok, most of them were passing me, but still, unless you start in march, it'll 
be 'crowded' out there...
