Can't match the memory capacity, but otherwise a ~comparable choice would be
what I'm carrying --- a Creative MuVo v100. I read good reports on it from
one of various online backpacking discussion groups, don't recall which one.

It takes a single AAA battery, claims to get about 18 hours per battery.
With a normal (not lithium) battery included it weighs 1.6 oz. UI isn't the
best in the world but acceptable. No radio included, but does include a
voice recorder, which I find to be handy on the trail.

I have the 2 GB model, the largest one they sell in this model. About $70,
here for example:

I was somewhat bummed by the built in limit to just 3 folders at first, and
the documentation is somewhat skimpy. Reading online elsewhere I later
figured out that I can manually add per-album or per-artist sub-folders and
navigate that way on the device. Not as good navigation as my Rio MP3
player, but I can learn to live with this.

And it supports DRM, so I can buy audio books for it from places such as
www.audible.com I've got maybe 150 hours or so of audio books loaded on
mine with something like 1/2 GB left over to carry the music that I listen
to most often.
