You should try the Northwest or Yukon Territories in Canada.

Now *that* is a wilderness experience..... ;o)

"So the trail needs more bear boxes. What's involved in buying and
installing them?"

Do we really want our wilderness experience to contain more man-made items,
smoothing the was for hikers?

The outdoor experience is reduced when agencies accomodate or pave the way
for hikers by taking care of them. The mystique and satisfaction of a hike
are gone. I like the (not really accurate but fun anyway) feeling that not
many people manage to walk to a particular area. Shelters, sleeping
platforms, bridges, signs and bear boxes ruin the natural wilderness.
