Oh yeah...I should have mentioned that you cannot exceed the 25 lb per package limit. We had no problem staying under that limit with food for 3 hikers...Its not far from VVR to the next resupply point...and we found ample extra supplies in the 55 gallon Hiker barrels for free...

One option to consider is what some hikers did in 2003. They waited until Mojave
to put their package together for VVR. And they put 3 to 4 hikers food drops in
one box. That way the resupply charge could be split among them.  VVR charges
the same rate regardless of the size of the package.

By Mojave, most hikers have kind of figured out who they will be hiking with
and can pretty much ascertain who will arrive at VVR within the same period.. We
had one straggler in our party, and we just repackaged his stuff and left it
with the folks behind the counter. he sucessfully picked it up the following day
at no additional charge.

I am thankful for these places to be out there or I wouldn't be able to get
my packages. I just wanted some opinions on which would be cheaper...to send a
package or resupply there. The part about the dogs was just an add on for those
who have inquired. I felt your response to my original email was very
defensive.
