Welcome to life on the pct-l...
If you are simply sitting back waiting ("lurking") for information to pop up that might interest you, you might have a long wait... There have been other postings starting to 'break in' to the FAQ threads - such as "snow", "passports", "birds", "concealed guns", etc. (but, of course, they are not included in your topics - well, they do fall under "anything" - don't they?)... If you post asking or commenting about something specific, you'll most likely get a reply - or many replies depending on the subject... So ask away!!

BTW, most of the potential subjects you listed are also many of the reasons the FAQ has been discussed at length - to give folks a starting point to better ask questions of the list members or perhaps a basic knowledge or resources to find out more on your own before asking the list members their opinions...

Personally, I do not discuss gear that much - it is too individualistic and personal... What works for me does not work for many others - we are all very different and unique, but the majority of the list members definitely do have one common bond - we love the PCT! I also do not post regarding subjects in which I don't have adequate knowledge
or strong beliefs... There are plenty of websites out there to gather just about any information you're interested in, but if you want personal opinions from the list members - you simply have to ask (and it is better to ask about 10 items in 10 posts other than all 10 in 1 post!)...

Be patient, but ask your questions... You WILL get answers (opinions)...

Happy trails!!!
Jim / PITA
