"I am a pepsi can convert, but I do have a few concerns, What is the availability verse canister at resupply points? Can you mail this in your bounce box, what about a canister? Any other info about use at altitude, Or other troubles. Thanks"

The most available source of alcohol for a stove is Heet or other brands of gas line deicer. The cheapest place I have found to get it is at Walmart, used to be under a dollar a bottle, not sure of the current price. They also used to have a generic brand in a blue bottle. If buying Heet brand, make sure you get the yellow bottle (methanol), don't get isopropyl. Of course other discount stores are a good place to, including auto parts stores. Most large grocery stores also have it at a good price. The most expensive places are resort stores and gas stations.

You can't legally mail alcohol (except maybe in small quantities and special markings?) or carry it on an airplane. There is no place on the PCT where it won't work due to altitude. I regularly use it up to 16,000 feet here in Peru, it just needs more air vents if you are using a combo pot support/wind screen like I do. Use a good wind screen and make sure you have cleared a good area around it of anything flammable, or use a stable flat rock as a base.
