Well, I can see there will never be consensus on this one!  While I admire their athleticism and deplore their disregard of safety regulations, does it really matter?  In a few years, when the PCT mileage changes with the addition of the Tejon Ranch trail, a new record will be established by some quick footed person.
In the meantime, I plan to set the record for 56 year-old female hikers from Arizona!
