Switchback replies: I support  Unsupported.  Let anyone who wants to set 
"records"  have fun on their  hike.  I like to encourage folks to set records, so 
I can break them.   So I can humiliate them and crush them under my boots.  No 
problem.   The more the intensity, the better I say.
 
Lesson Learned #22.8: Always remember  to take a compass/GPS.  It is 
embarrassing to eat your  partners.
