Take Hook Creek Road through the 03 fire (follow Hospital Signs turn at the Jensons Grocery Store). - don't attempt anything with the ranch - it is OHV roads and does not get anywhere near the PCT. Once past the houses you will find a gate that was open when I was there last month. Meander down - cross a few creeks and there should be signs to Splinters Cabin (don't head toward T6 xing). There was a gate 1/2 mile up from Splinters that was locked but should be open by now. Once at the big picnic area/parking lot the PCT is down stream from here about 200 yards. You can't see the bridge and the tread meanders but you should have no difficulty. If you are going NB stay on South side of the creek - SB cross the bridge.

Helpful folks,

I plan to get on the PCT at the Deep Creek Bridge area near Big Bear / Cedar
Glen 34.27399 -117.12791

I see that Hook Creek Rd / Squint Ranch Rd come close to this point on the
PCT.

Is there anything odd or difficult about finding the trail from this point?
I plan to arrive at night and wonder how difficult it will be to find the
trail.

Thanks,

Gumby
