I'm a strong believer in sweat equity. 

If you are blessed enough to walk a trail, some trail work  (or restoration work) is good karma.

Not everyone can work directly on the trail they hiked (be it the AT, PCT, CDT, etc.), but every state has trails, local parks or other areas that would use a hand.
