[pct-l] PCT section and thru sightings

There were 9 of us Mission Hills Country Club Hiking Group hikers dayhiking
a 8.5 mile segment of the PCT south from Hwy 74 to Sandy Jeep Road
yesterday. Pat and Paul (Bear) in Anza let us leave two of our cars on their
property for this car shuttle hike. I-Pod, a thru hiker and friend of Pat
and Bear, drove one of our cars and picked us up at the end of our dayhike.
I’d never met Pat and Bear before. It was a treat to meet them. A smile came
to their faces when I gave them 2 of the Class of 2008 bandanas.

 

We met 3 section hikers and 3 thrus. They loved their PCT Class of 2008
bandanas. The flowers were out in full bloom. The day was ideal – breezy,
sunny and in the high 60’s. Every hiker we met had a smile on their faces. I
took photos of our dayhike and have posted photos. Photos of the section and
thrus’ are embedded in the 3 photo pages displayed in our hiking group photo

Many kudos to trail crews. The trail is almost as manicured as our golf
courses here in Ranch Mirage!
