[pct-l] Fw: thus behaving badly

I've put some comments in on the unfortunate situation for both the hiker
and the trail angel but have another thought since reading Wes' post.
Whether a hiker or a trail angel are having a "bad" day" it's not fair for
them to take it out on those around them. I, personally, have only gone off
on hikers a couple of times in the 5 past years. One was drunk on his lips
when he got here and after allowing him to stay in our home for the night.
After we all went to bed he proceeded to empty every liquor bottle in the
house and was still freshly drunk at 7am. The other was a very demanding
hiker with self righteous ideas of the kind of service he expected from
myself and Jerry. When each hiker gets to a store or a trail angel's home
remember you are not the only one. There are probably a couple hundred more
that are going to appear wanting the same resources. Don't burn the whole
hiker community bridges. You seem to like the amenities we try to keep going
for you for your stay. Don't make those, who go out of their way to make
your hike a little easier, decide it's not appreciated. A suggestion that
might soften up getting what you need................ask don't demand. If
you get a no for an answer don't cop an attitude. All that does it make us
mad and glad we said no. We are here to help......not to serve.
