If one reads her journal from day one, it becomes readily apparent that she was already stressed, maybe depressed, and frustrated by her life experiences to date BEFORE she started the trail. If she's miserable now, just wait until she gets to the Kickoff and gets an earful from some of the attendees who are no doubt following this thread.

For those Attendees who are, please............be gentle with her. Perhaps you can turn her back from the Dark Side. Even Darth Vader was saved.

  Judging by the way she is describing this hike in her journal, I doubt
  she will hike much farther. She is having a miserable time.
