[pct-l] The strangest PCT post you've ever seen

This is really "off the wall." I have a cabin on about 6 acres near the PCT
in Section F, at an elevation of 6,841 between Tehachapi and Lake Isabella.
Calling it a "cabin" is kind of over-stating it. It consists of one 12x20
room with wood stove, sofa sleeper, table and chairs. Plus two doors and
five windows. And a 23' trailer next to it that serves as the brains of the
unit. There is no power, no running water; just an outhouse. Get the
picture? But the trailer has battery power, refrigerator, stove, heater.

The cabin has roll roofing. The roll roofing is shot and blowing off fast.
It has to be replaced. I have all the materials up there, but I'm almost 59
years old and am unable to do the job myself, or even help. The total roof
size is about 20x24, and it's low.

I need two strong young bucks (or does) who want to spend a weekend on the
mountain re-roofing the cabin and earning a total of $400 in the process. I
live about 1 mile from Disneyland and will pick you up and deliver you home
safely. We would be going up very early on the morning of Friday, October
5. That is Columbus Day weekend. I need two good workers who know what
they're doing to do this job.

I will feed you and house you during your stay. I eat meat, so if you're a
veggie, you'll have to pack your own grub. I will furnish bottled water,
but anything else you want to drink will be up to you. I drink Bud Light,
and lots of it, but I bring my own.

I am heterosexual and intend to stay that way. There is no modesty on the
mountain, so expect none. I walk around unclothed whenever I feel like it.
There is no sexual angle to this offer. I'm not looking for any, and I'm
not providing any.

If you are interested, reply to travisaw at jps.net and I will take it upon
myself to evaluate your fitness for this project. I'm not qualified to do
so, but I will anyway.

Bonus: I will lead you on a short hike to the historic Gwynne Mine, which
operated from about 1860 to 1960. You can see for yourself what 100 years
of gold mining did to the environment. But you'll see some neat old
buildings, too.

I am also interested in perhaps selling the property in the near future, and
you might be interested in that, too. Own your own piece of the PCT!

Also, I'm armed. There will be weapons. If you are opposed to weapons,
this is not the job for you. There will be a loaded .357 Ruger in your
sleeping quarters. If you get visited by an angry bear, you might want to
fire off a warning shot. Aim downhill, please.

I will do everything I can to ensure your safety, comfort and enjoyment.
That's all I can do. It will be an expensive weekend for me.

This is not a hiking trip, so there's no reason to travel light. We will be
riding in an '89 3/4-ton 4WD GMC Suburban, which has lots of cargo room and
is not a luxury vehicle. It does have air conditioning. Bring as much
stuff as you'd like.

I look forward to hearing from you.
