You are, of course, more than welcome to not filter/treat your  water.  All I 
ask is that for the week or so that you are experiencing  explosive diarrhea, 
you poop far, far away from me.
 
That being said, I keep a little bottle of  Purell in my toilet kit. After I 
do my wilderness  business, it is handy for a quick disinfection prior to a 
more thorough  hand washing.
