Hello from a long-time list lurker. Glad to see the list back up.

The first report is from AP, the second from a Seattle TV station. No
details here on how far they got, but it sounds as if they were
walking out under their own power to Stevens Pass:

Searchers with the King County sheriff's office have found two hikers
on the snow-covered Pacific Crest Trail north of Snoqualmie Pass.
Spokesman John Urquhart says they're cold, wet and tired but walking
out toward Stevens Pass.
Urquhart did not release the names of the man and woman who are in
their 20s. He said the woman has been hiking the Pacific Crest Trail
from California.
They left the Snoqualmie Pass Lodge on Monday with a dog. A person
who was supposed to meet them at Stevens Pass became concerned and
notified the sheriff's office.

Searchers have found the man and woman who were missing in the Cascades.

The two are cold, wet and tired, but walking toward Steven Pass, said
John Urquhart of the King County Sheriff's Office.

Searchers began looking for the two overnight near Snoqualmie Pass.
Searchers referred to the woman's Web site for clues about where the
two hikers could be. .

Nadine Lew, who is in her 20s and from California, has been hiking
the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada and writing about the
journey on gopacha.org.

She met the man, an acquaintance, in the Snoqualmie area to finish
the last leg of the journey, King County sheriff's deputies said.

The trail is knee-deep in snow in some places.

Lew wrote on her Web site on Sept. 29 that her trip was thwarted by
bad weather. She planned to stay in the town of Snoqualmie and try
again on Sept. 30 or Oct. 1.

The two left the Snoqualmie Pass Lodge on Monday with a dog. A person
who was supposed to meet them at Stevens Pass became concerned and
notified the sheriff's office.
