[pct-l] Short hike

Hi all.  I can manage do do half of the JMT next summer without quitting 
my job, selling the boat etc.  I've got 18 vacation daze coming!  I can 
get to Yosemite via Amtrak easy.  I think VVR (Lake Edison) is where I'd 
like to get off, but I think transportation there may be a problem.  So, 
is there any public transportation close around there?  Gawd, I haven't 
hitch hiked in nigh on to 40 years!  Any other suggestions?  I'm still 
planning a thru-hike but it will have to wait at least one more year.  I 
want to do this two week deal first before I commit everything to a 
thru-hike and find out either (1) I don't like it, or (2)  I physically 
can't do it.  I wouldn't be the first.....  Thanks
