Nope, the trail guidebook uses the USGS topographic maps

I need some help then...my USFS maps line up virtually exactly with the guide book maps. I've always used FS maps; they've all but always matched up. I have topo maps...that's not what I'm referring to, nor do the maps in the guide book resemble topo maps.

Now what?
