Donna:

I'm Steve Sergeant, producer and host of Earth Island Institute's 
radio segment, "The WildeBeat: The audio journal about getting into 
the wilderness."

Last weekend, I met Charlie Dyer, Ryan Kern, and Lee Neil in Tuolumne 
Meadows (TM).  From all of the evidence I can find, they are the 
earliest vanguard of PCT through-hikers to arrive at TM this year.

They wanted me to pass along to you their thanks (again) and best 
wishes, and to let you know that as of their arrival at TM, 
everything is fine.

I'm also writing to let you know that I interviewed them about their 
experiences to date, and will be posting edited highlights from that 
audio interview by 9AM tomorrow (Thursday, May 31) to our web site 
(see below).  The MP3 audio files should be playable on any recent 
computer, and can be downloaded to iPods or burned to CDs.

I hope it's useful to the next wave of hikers heading toward the Sierra
Nevada.
