John,
Somehow I new al-along that you where going to go for it again.
Once a ''Hall of Famer'' always a ''Hall of Famer'' the competitive spirit
just never dies not in ''John Stamstad''.
This promises to be a banner year for JMT record attempts.
It looks like three other guys are going for it....the year is right....snow
is way below average.
What date are you planning on and what time are you shooting for?
Did you catch giardia last year or was it some other illness that caused you
to bail.
Al Shaver caught giardia last year, I mean he caught it bad, he was not
treating or filtering.
Take heavier duty shoes and more cold weather & rain gear and shelter this
year to prevent the same problems you had in 2005.
Remember, it can get awful cold and snow in the Sierra anytime of the year
even in mid summer and if you get injured and can't bail out you could be in
serious trouble.
I took a nasty fall just below Pinchott pass at around 11,500 ft. on my 2006
attempt and bailed out next morning.
I had everything I needed to survive even at 11,500 ft. so I just crawled
into my shelter and assessed my condition in the morning, but if it had been
snowing or raining and if I did not have adequate gear I could have been in
serious trouble at 11,500 ft.
Keep me tuned, these JMT record attempts always get me all exited

Reinhold

John,
Long time no see, just wondering if you are going to do the JMT again this
year.
Looks like 2007 will be banner year for JMT record attempts.
