[pct-l] date to start out

Most people appear to be leaving during the last week in April with an
original target of Kennedy June 15. With the low snow, those with flexible
schedules may opt to leave earlier. Many of us though can only adjust so
much due to flights, work commitments, etc. The departure date you choose
is really based on how many miles a day you are going to travel and how many
rest days. Theoretically, people leaving on April 20th and others leaving
May 3 could all end up reaching Kennedy at the same time.

Subject: Re: [pct-l] date to start out

Hello, new to the list...trying to soak up as much info as I can

For example, when would one have to start out on a through-hike in order to
reach the Sierra at around the dates mentioned in the last digest? (seems
like the first week of June). Also, what is generally considered the latest
feasible date for starting a northbound thru-hike?

thanks in advance

Andy
ps, sorry if this is a repost, last time I mistakenly quoted the whole
digest and it did not get through
