I am starting to use Thor-Lo Medds socks. They are for diabetics, but I
think they might have wonderful hiking applications too. They cost about $40
for two pair in a box. I got mine at the Foot Solutions store here in Las
Vegas.

They are VERY comfortable. I got the Low Risk type in black and white.
There are very special washing instructions for these socks too.

In any case, I find wearing them nice with my MBT shoes. They are made of
85% acrylic, 12% nylon, and 3% spandex. The box mentions that you might have
to buy a larger size shoe with these socks, since they have a lot of cushion.
