[pct-l] PCT-Waldo lake area quiet again

Slightly off-topic but a significant event for all those hiking the PCT.

“The US Forest Service upheld its decision to ban gas-powered engines at Waldo Lake.
The FS has been considering such a ban for almost two decades. It plans to spend the next two years making sure boaters know about the ban before it begins enforcing the no-gas-engine policy at the pristine lake east of Oakridge.”

This is an important political decision made in the face of strong opposition from well connected developers.

The PCT, which passes by the lake at a higher elevation will be a lot quieter in future years.
