[pct-l] Flame exchanges re annoying posts

In my experience, all open mailing lists get degraded as a few people get
very comfortable posting and forget that they are writing for a large and
diverse audience rather than a few like-minded cronies.  So a plea for
reasonable discretion seems fair and appropriate -- this is how I read JoAnn
Michael's original posts on the subject.  Others then chimed in with
stronger statements, leading to the usual demands to shut up and hit the
delete button -- and so it goes ....

My suggestion -- why not self-censor to posts containing information?  Who
needs another source of jokes and entertainment in a world awash with such
things?
