[pct-l] Trail list legitimacy

It has been a common complaint that the PCT-L is used
as a forum for the inane blatherings of people who are
not hiking or those who wish they were hikers. As a
matter of fact the PCTA has shied away from using the
PCT-L as a conduit to warn us of trail
conditions/closures, etc. for that very reason. It
simply fills up inboxes with a lot of irrelevance. I
would like to implore the community to either ignore
clever taunts to respond to topics that don't relate
to trail business or to take them outside the PCT-L.
There are plenty of people that need this space for
information more vital than fodder for conflicting
egos. Take it outside boys. You're not gettin' any
respect by beating that drum here.
